JNTU of Kakinada University
After several years of its existence JNTU College of Engineering, Kakinada got its well deserved university Status. Even though it is one of the oldest (60 years old) colleges in Andhra Pradesh, till date the development are negligible. Hope fully the facilities may be improved with this development.
Ex-students from coastal engineering colleges will get their official transcripts and degree certificates directly from Kakinada. Also new branches in engineering field will be available in future. This helps a lot for all ex-students from coastal Andhra engineering colleges. We all welcome this development.

According to recent news, New registrar of Kakinada JNTU planning to start new courses related to Petroleum, Chemical, and Nuclear engineering fields. but the bottle neck is sufficient land around Kakinada area. University authorities are facing land problem to expand the University. They requested government to provide 500 acres of land to develop the university. Also university authorities requested the land acquired for SEZ near Kakinada. Already Adikavi Nannaya university is facing land acquisition delays government is not showing keen interest to acquire the land for educational institutions compared to land acquired for industrial use between Kakinada and Tuni. Government should give preferential priority to education and allot the land on top priority.
