Centre considering Bio-tech Park in Guntur?

Guntur: The central government is considering, setting up Bio-tech park in Guntur. Tobacco Board conducted a study on the feasibility and submitted a report to Union government. If Centre responds positively, it is ready to set up the park.

The Board has many times advised farmers to cultivate medicinal crops in place of tobacco. But farmers insisted on marketing support. This made Tobacco Board Chairman Dayachari, to think on Bio-tech Park. And board has passed a resolution to this effect, to set up Bio-tech Park.

- Has there been any progress on this?
