State to shift Kurnool yard
Kurnool Sept. 3: The minister for marketing, Mr M. Mareppa, alleged that Left party leaders who had won the elections with the support of the Congress, were now criticising the state government. Speaking to newsmen here on Wednesday, the minister alleged that ungrateful cinema producers who were making movies by taking concessions, were criticising the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
Mr Mareppa alleged that Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna had portrayed people in the Rayalaseema region as murderers in their movies. The minister expressed anger at the reported statement of Chiranjeevi that he would change the culture of Rayalaseema. The minister alleged that cinema actors were lampooning people in the state in their movies and asked how they could ask for votes.
The minister alleged that leaders of Left parties were staging protests only to politicise the fertiliser issue. He said that the fertiliser problem had occurred in the state due to inadequate supply of fertilisers from the Centre, transport problems and shortage of agriculture officials.
The minister said all farmers had sought fertilisers at one time due to delay in rains, creating problems in supply. He said that the Chief Minister had directed officials to solve the problem by September 15 and ensure that all farmers get fertilisers.
The minister said the government would streamline the supply of fertilisers and urged farmers to start agricultural works without worrying. Mr Mareppa said that new market yards would be constructed in Guntur and Kur-nool by shifting the existing market yards. |
