I think its not required to make Vijayawada, the Capital of Andhra State if Telangana comes.Whether Telangana forms or not, these below Requirements are highly Enough(But the Govt should pay some Special Interest for the Development of this Region):-
*1.Merging the two corporations of Vijayawada and Guntur and the areas in their vicinities.

*2.The Goverment should create a Special Economic Zone in this area.

*3.Developing Machilipatnam Seaport in International Standards(Ofcourse Govt is going to develop the port with about Rs1200 Crores, and going to call tenders Shortly).

*4.Developing the Gannavaram Airport into an International Airport or should build a Modern New Airport in between Vijayawada and Guntur.

*5.A Small effort by the Govt to woo the Investors by publiciting the Advantages in Setting up Agro based and Food Processing Industries in the Area by telling all above Facilities to the Investors.

*6.And coming to IT and SOFTWARE Companies they will be ready to keep their Offices in this Area without any Govt Effort(because their is big Oppurtunity here for IT to be Developed as many Engineers and High Graded Student come out of these two Cities.

I think these above requirements are enough to make Vijayawada-Guntur to be developed like Hyderabad,Bangalore and other tech Cities....

Vijayawada will definitely develop. In 9 years Chandra Babu developed only Hyderabad and neglected all other areas. Now YSR is CM. So Vijayawada and Guntur will definitely develop.

YSR advised the collector Naveen mittal recently at the gannavaram airport to identify 3000 acres of land between vijayawada and guntur for constructing a new planned city named 'knowledge city' that acts as a bridge between vijayawada, guntur and tenali. The construction of this city will be on the lines of chandigarh and gandhinagar. Almost all the UDA officials are now allotted the task of identifying that land as they are supposed to submit the proposols in 2 months. If this materializes, the twin city dream is not a distant one. What do u say????
One more good news: With the state govt finally showing some responsibility towards the STPI, construction of a 2.5 lac sq.feet building
will start in a month or so and is estimated to get ready for occupation in 1 year. Also 300 acres were identified near the proposed singapore township in mangalagiri for construting new IT parks.

Return to “Vijayawada”
