Reservations are not reason for casteism. Only few people are getting jobs by reservations. How can reservations result casteism. Caste system is characterstic of hinduism. But people who are converted in to christianity, islam and buddhism are also not leaving their caste identity.

Well said. I know one person who removed caste name from his name even continuing in hinduism. His name is Mallidi Raja Sekhar. He belong to village Rayavaram in East Godavari district. He used to be called as Mallidi Raja Sekhar Reddy. He removed caste name reddy from his name.

Conversion is a very old problem.Conversion rate is not much when compared to other countries. The reason for this is probably because Hindus love their own caste. For them caste is more important. They also dont have any superstitious religious beliefs normally practised by some of the Brahmin and vysya communities.Unlike in christianity and Islam there is no central religious leadership to dictate. They have more religious freedom. They are not much religious and dont bother too much to know any thing about their religion. So they dont normally change their religion unless they are forced to do so by upper caste Hindus. But Hinduism as a religion is fast disappearing from urban places of India.Hinduism united India for a long time inspite of the serious caste differences. This is possibly because of the indiffence of Hindus towards their religion.
