Mr.venky,

how u could claim this project as most prestigious one for AP. This project is major Dandaga project of AP. Lacs of highly elite people are against this project. Once telangana is given this project will become a big white elephant and who ever operates it will be in soup. there are several prestigious projects are under construction in AP which are really attracting FDI inflow and useful for the nation in manufacturing..

Sir ,

The only reason for my claim is.....bcas its a project for public.

Public transportation wise this is the massaive project AP has never seen.

The 1st massaive project is PV Narasimharao Express highway with 2500cr in hyd thats got compeled..

2nd is Nehru Outer ring road with 7000 crs...almost 60% over

Now 3rd one ""THE HYDERABAD METRO""" with a huge 12000cr project...ground work already started in Ameerpet-Hitech city road

So for sure in public infrastructure its the prestigious project fpr whole AP

Instead of spending 12000cr for under ground/elevated tracks in a cojested area this amount can be used to develop a planned industrial city , where we can get plenty of openland, water..

Track on open land will be life long as compare to elevated/under gorund.

Planned city means... ... ...
1. First construct 6 lane straigh train track of 100km length.
Means city length is 100km.
2.Put one passenger (slow train) station per every one km like a, b, c, d....
train X stops at a, c, e.... other train Y stops at b,d,f...
3. Fast trains will stop for every 5km.

Develop roads (express way) parallel to the track (100km) with 8 lanes left side and 8 lanes right side both are two way use.

Major roads (access) connectivity to this road for every 5 km T-junction, which extends to 5km length, where in this path shops will exist.
Minor roads connects to access roads with 1 km pitch.

All street /colany roads get connects to minor roads.

So the city become the strcture of....

100 km length.
10 km width (left side 5km, right side 5km).
No junction points of local train track.
20 junction points of express way with access roads.

So a person any where in the city hecan travel by train and road journey is maximum of 5km.

LOcal train can be run 24 hours, since only single route it gets always with minimum number of people.

City metro rail project on course

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Top bankers learnt to have offered funding support

Financial closure within timeframe is a ‘record of sorts'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad metro rail project crossed a significant milestone with the concessionaire, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), submitting financial closure documents to the government on Thursday.

The deal was done within six months of the agreement reached between the government and L&T on September 4, 2010. Financial closure for the biggest ever public, private partnership Rs.12,132-crore project within the stipulated timeframe is considered to be a record of sorts.A consortium of top bankers is learnt to have offered their funding support during a recent meeting with senior Government officials last week.

Despite apprehensions raised about the current political scenario, ‘hard sell' by senior officials of both the government and L&T ensured the backing.

L&T had already paid performance guarantee amount of Rs.360 crore or three per cent of the project cost to the government last month even as the bid guarantee amount of Rs.240 crore or two per cent of cost was returned to it as per agreement.

L&T was the lowest bidder seeking Rs.1,458 crore of viability gap funding offered to an extent of 20 per cent of the project cost by the Central government. It will contribute the balance Rs.10,674 crore. Metro lines will be built across the three dense traffic corridors to an extent of 71.16 km with Line One to be taken from Miyapur to L.B.Nagar, Line Two from Jubilee Bus Station to Falaknuma and Line Three from Nagole to Shilparamam.
